Orange Shirt Day commemorates the residential school experience, and honors the healing journey of surviors and their families. In 2021, the Canadian Government made September 30th a national holiday called The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The National Indiginous Veterans Day was created to honour the important contributions made by First Nations, Inuit and Métis Veterans in service to Canada.
